In a recent room on ClubHouse, there was a question on my statement that AI will never be sentient as I stated in my book- “Your Mind at Siege”.
In my explorations at the crossroads of technology and human consciousness, I've come to a steadfast conclusion: AI, with all its advancements, is far from achieving true sentience. This belief is underpinned by a deep understanding of both AI's capabilities and the nature of consciousness.
AI has indeed 'hacked' humanity's core operating system, language, enabling it to mimic human communication effectively. This might create an illusion of understanding, but it doesn't equate to consciousness. AI's ability to evoke emotional responses is akin to the way films stir emotions; they evoke but do not possess consciousness.
